The Biography of M.I.N.D.

15 minutes of fame can come and go quicker than the blink of an eye, M.I.N.D. is always ready. Born Marlon Jermaine McGilbra, M.I.N.D. is prepared and ready to deliver. His line “Constantly reminded of what keeps us divided/lack of verbal skills/dances predicated toward minors” from the record “Black American Dream,” summarizes the predicament this Southern artist has had to deal with.

Hailing from the great city of Houston, this wordplay extraordinaire expresses, “It’s hard to make a name for yourself in a city known for chopped-n-screwed music when you don’t incorporate that into your sound.”

M.I.N.D., however, is determined to change his city’s musical soundscape. “I give it to ‘em in doses, whether teaspoons or capfuls, the end product is still potent.” Now, doesn’t this sound like a man prepared?

Stop making other people money, Let's make our own!

If you are reading this, then one, you are a fan of my music or two, I am a fan of your music. That is a basic concept. There is only one problem with that concept, we are not working together to make our dreams a reality.

I don't know about you, but I am tired of working for someone else and making them money. Do they pay you? Yeah, but look at the small percentage you make compared to the annual amount that they will earn.

The only solution I can come up with is to work for yourself. Once again, a basic concept. To make a long story short, I want to utilize my musical talents. I want to do this on my terms, not because I am obligated by a recording contract. I want to shoulder the responsibility of failure if there is any and relish in the success after it comes.

I have a business plan for investors (actual documentation). Access to some of the most talented beat makers in Houston (see my friends list). A recording history of 10+ years. Last but not least, a Fire and Desire that would make Rick James jealous.

I can't do it without you, but I will try. "Failure is a lack of preparation." I have been studying my craft for 10+ years, and I'm ready for the big test. My ability to mesh words together and deliver them so effortlessly, would make you consider me a figment of your imagination. Serious inquiries only.
